Wedding!

There is not much up on our blog yet but it is a great way to update family and friends.
Here are a few photos of the wedding! We got our photos back from our professional photographer but we don't have the negatives yet. These are just a few from friends. The wedding day was perfect from start to finish and Steve and I had such an amazing day! We are glad that everyone else had fun too. Who would have thought that my 82 year old grandma would be one of the last on the dance floor? Nothing with her surprises me. :)
Steve and I spend the night at Semiahmoo Resort in Washington and then headed to the Seattle airport. Our first flight was quite eventful as they found a 'live' bullet and made us all get off to hand search our bags. That took forever but we still didn't miss our flight to San Fran. From there we had a flight to Miami where we had to wait 8 hours before we left for Puerto Plata. Unfortunately it was quite expensive for us to take a shuttle to South Beach...and let's just say that 8 hours in the Miami airport is not THAT exciting. :) So it was a long trip down to the Dominican but we enjoyed it and it was fun to reflect all on the wedding since the day went by so fast.
The Dominican was amazing...great beaches, lush mountains and friendly people. The 1st resort was incredible...the beach wasn't the crystal clear that I was hoping for but Steve and I really enjoyed our time there. One of the most enjoyable parts for us was meeting other couples at the resort. Since it was our honeymoon we were treated one night to dinner in the 'wedding gazebo' overlooking the ocean. Our dinner was so delicious and was prepared by the head chef. Three other couples joined us including a couple celebrating their 27th anniversary and other great couple celebrating their 50th! We enjoyed some fun times with them.
After 5 nights at the first resort Steve and I rented a car and drove across the country (literally) to our second destination, Punta Cana. The drive was quite the adventure in itself-It was even crazier than the crowded streets of Pusan, Korea! Although the highways are quite well maintained there are HUGE potholes, tons of motorcyles (who come out of nowhere and don't stop at red lights!) and lots of dead animals (big ones...we're talking cows and horses! Steve quickly adjusted to their driving ways and got us there in one piece! Driving through the mountains and small villages was really an eye opener. Reminded me both of Trinidad and of parts of Namibia and South Africa. I am glad we left the 5 star resort experience to see a little of the real world. I wish we could have stopped and spent time in one of the villages.
The 2nd resort we went to was also amazing but way bigger than our first resort. There were 3 hotels that you had access to and also a golf course, casino, night club, conference center ect....it was huge. The beach there was incredible and we had some fun snorkeling. Lots of US college students on spring break at this resort...not as crazy as Mexico can get but they caused more of a line at the bar which means I had to wait to get my pina colada! :) Steve and I tried to go dancing several nights but even at midnight the club was empty. We were too tired to stick around till everyone came....are we getting old?!

Lots more to tell but I'm sure you'd rather see some photos anyways! Until our next adventure...
