Conquering one of my biggest fears

I had the opportunity this summer to work again as an Activity Coordinator for the Coquitlam School District. I only worked a few weeks because I really wanted to have some down time. The time off was great but I can't wait to get back to work to see the kids! (earning $ again is also a nice bonus!!)
This year I worked with a group of wonderful Koreans that can from an all girls school in Incheon (about an hour from Seoul). I brushed up on my limited Korea and got to take them all over the Lower Mainland (Whistler, Stanley Park, Bunzten Lake, Harbour Centre, as well as Victoria). We also had the opportunity to go to Capilano Suspension Bridge. I wasn't too eager to go there because I've been there several times with out of town guests. For those of you that know me well, I am pretty claustrophobic. Well, I have another fear too.... heights. I don't mind being enclosed inside a building, would love to try parasailing and hope to some day sky dive (go figure)...but there is something about being on a swinging bridge 230 feet above huge rocks and water that just isn't too appealing to me. It was pretty sad though that, since I had been there before, I had never fully crossed the bridge. Now that they have so many attractions on the other side I felt that I should bite the bullet and conquer my fear. The swinging motion of the bridge did make me a bit nauseous and I had to wonder why so many people wanted to stop right in the middle (where it swings the most) to take photos or just look over the edge! What's with that?! But, besides an increased heart rate, (does that count as exercise?) the trek across wasn't THAT bad. Of course once you get over you have to go back.
Perhaps my next challenge will be the Royal Gorge Bridge. http://www.royalgorgebridge.com/Bridge.aspx
or maybe not.

Congratulations on conquering one of your biggest fears! I'll have to do the same and drive through underground parkades all day... now I can leave a comment with a link! :)
