Love and Road Rage

Happy Valentine's Day! A little late on the wishes, but this is really the first time I've had the chance to sit down and write. I need an excuse to take a break from report cards. :)
Had a wonderful week full of the love of family and friends. Wednesday was full of gifts and little surprises from Steve and a delicious steak dinner and wonderful bottle of wine. We decided to wait until the weekend to go out on our 'date' since I am just way too tired during the week.
Needless to say it was a great weekend. A pro-d day at work allowed me to take off early and spend some time in Newport Village with a friend whom I dearly miss. The weekend continued with a wedding, car hunting, and a night downtown. Dinner at the Wedgewood hotel's Bauchus Lounge and Restaurant was delicious. We had been to the lounge before, but hadn't tried their dinner. Pheasant, duck and lamb were among some of what we enjoyed. Yum. I was too full for dessert (can you believe that?), but the truffle and biscotti that came with the bill was the perfect finish. I'd love to go to the lounge some time for their 'afternoon high tea.' I have yet to find a place that can replicate the scones and Devonshire cream I devoured while in Devon a few years ago. Let me know if you're interested!
While I could go into mushy details, perhaps you'd rather read about another entertaining part of the night? We watched some crazy guy use his brand new BMW X5 as a weapon. No joke. After getting pissed off at the car in front of him he tailed him down Robson and eventually rammed several times into the poor couple ahead of them (who almost slid into the car in front of them). They both got out of the car which led to quite the altercation. The Asian man was being very rational, but the other guy (obviously) was not. A man who was walking up Robson at the time yelled at the guy to leave the man alone, to which then the guy slapped him in the face. You have to picture this angry, ripped man (you know the type that wear t-shirts way too tight) slap a bystander. He could have knocked him out cold, but I think the slap was way more offensive. Eventually they got back in the BMW and drove off. I'm pretty sure the cops were able to get to them. Five minutes after this happened a police officer ran past us and tackled a guy who had just stolen a pair of Nikes. I can't say I've ever been so entertained on Robson before.
We ended the weekend with a friendly guys vs. girls game of Scene It (we won't mention who won both times). A very enjoyable weekend with friends and free entertainment. I live for the weekends...they can never come too soon!

That's crazy...can't we all just get along? :) The craziest thing I've ever seen on Robson is that lady (who used to be down there quite often), with the live duck in a baby carriage! It was her...um...pet I think. Very strange. Tara
I remember the duck lady! I haven't seen her for a while.
